My friend Meghan is a fellow IU alum, an incredible photographer and a blogger extraordinaire; I'm so excited to have her sharing her secrets to style today. To check out her life behind the lens, visit her blog

When megan asked me to guest blog on pink-to-green, two thoughts crossed my mind, "me???! really?? me??!" and "what in the world am i going to write about?"
My blog mainly focuses on my life through a lens, but that doesn't mean i don't like to look my best while behind it. so, i decided to do a style file on my picks for fall.
Though it's easy to go out and splurge on a whole new wardrobe at the change of every season, i find my money is best spent on a few classic, quality basics. i find the "gaps" can be filled in as need be with items i find here and there. i have also discovered it's the best way to force myself to 'shop my closet.' i am an avid supporter of frye boots from august-april, as they seem to get me through everything! i pair them with dresses and a cardigan in the early part of the season and move on to skinny jeans (always a staple, j brand are my favorite) and chunky sweaters as the mercury drops. one of my other favorite combos for fall (or any time, really) is a really well-tailored pair of skinny jeans (read: hits just below the ankle bone) and flats. honestly, you could wear a plain grey t-shirt on top and still look polished.
To me, fall means scarves, layers, football, bloomington (i'll always be a hoosier and fall will forever make me wish i lived back on that gorgeous campus), frye boots and apple cider.
Here are the items i hope to add to my library of clothes for this fall
1. jcrew boyfriend sweatshirt
2. sail scarf
3. rayon wayfarer
4. jbrand skinnies
5. jcrew gingham button down
6. tory burch eddie flats
7. frye harness boot
8. marc by marc jacobs natasha bag
9. opi lincoln park after dark polish
